caseless ammunition

Ammunition purchased through the Hoffmann Institute is caseless. Despite the inherent fragility of the resin casing around the powder, caseless ammunition does not leave empty casings behind at the scene of incidents.

  1. no caseless ammunition is issued for revolvers. Since revolvers do not eject their empty brass, the forensic evidence issue does not exist
  1. All caseless ammunition is issued in sealed magazines appropriate to the weapon. Loading the magazine into the weapon automatically breaks the seal, but until then the ammunition is as protected from cuts and abrasions as we can make it
  1. Sealed magazines are made of translucent plastic. External magazines allow visual checks of remaining ammunition
